The Flame Retardant Low Smoke Cables and Wires are made out of electrolytic grade copper insulated with flame retardant grade Polyvinyl chloride. During an electrical short circuit normal Polyvinyl chloride wires catch fire and the insulation starts melting there by creating short circuit with the adjacent conductors. In some poor quality of insulation materials the flame travels through the cables and spreads to other parts of the circuit and building. Cable insulated with flame retardant Polyvinyl chloride retards the flame, the insulation gets charred and becomes a solid mass, there by restricting the flame to travel or spread to other parts of the circuits.
